2008 Welcome
Dear friends and soccer fans,
It is hard to believe another year has gone by. As we sit here in the middle of winter, it’s nice to think about all the wonderful things that will be happening this summer: warm weather, vacation and travel, outdoor activities, and, of course soccer camp! Well, mark your calendars and make plans as we’re ready to roll for our 7th year of camps here at the Utah Women’s Soccer Academy. Held at the University of Utah, we offer soccer experiences for all levels of female soccer players. We have a Day Academy for young players. And we offer residential and commuter Academies for players of junior high and high school ages.
The Utah Women’s Soccer Academy provides a great environment for soccer development, character building, making friends and fun. Whether you are a potent forward, creative midfielder, rock-solid defender or cat-quick goalkeeper, we invite you to join us. If you are new to the sport, we have a place reserved for you also. Our Academy experience features:
* Soccer skills and game development for players of all levels
* Off-the-field Learning Sessions for personal growth
* Sessions conducted by experienced coaches and college soccer players
* Lots of role models for young female players, including University of Utah players and coaches
* Great facilities, including Ute Soccer Field (with lights!) and Rice-Eccles Stadium
* Dorms and meals at the 2002 Winter Olympics Athlete’s Village
We will be having some one-day mini-camps this spring to get every one ready for summer. Keep your eyes posted for Academy updates here and at our university web site: www.utahutes.com. We also have a new U of U soccer blog. Check out the latest team and camp news at www.uofusoccer.blogspot.com.
We will once again offer a FREE youth season ticket for the 2008 Utah women’s soccer season to all campers. Part of your soccer development is to watch as many high-level games as possible. We want you to be there for all the great action as the Utes try to regain the Mountain West Conference championship.
You can sign up on-line here or by calling our Academy hot line, (801) 330-7272, to get an application sent to you. We look forward to seeing old and new friends this summer. And, remember, every day is a GREAT DAY FOR SOCCER!
All the best,
Rich Manning
