3 California Girls Head Off With Diplomas

May 6th, 2008

One of the main goals of this whole ride we call college soccer is for our players to get the degrees they are studying towards and move on into the fields they want to get into…

Kiley Jones graduated with a degree in Communications and is heading back to San Clemente, California to live with her folks for the summer and play with the new WPSL West Coast team (current Ute Morgan Skeen will also play on that team). Kiley is going to take some classes at Saddleback College down there and wants to get into inertior designing.

Chelsea Card is also heading back to San Clemente to spend time with her folks down there. Chelsea got her degree in Communications and is going to take the summer to find out what she wants to do.

Former Ute goal keeper, Ashley Mason, finished her degree in Exercise Physiology….good job with the Physics requirement!)…and is going to visit her folks as well in California for a bit before going to graduate school. Ashley wants to be a physician’s assistant.

We wish them the best…GREAT JOB, ladies!

2008 Preview: Challenging Opening Weekend

May 2nd, 2008

Well, the schedule has been finalized for the upcoming season. And things will get popping right from the first weekend of play. We are heading to North Carolina to play two terrific teams in two fantastic settings.

Wake Forest is a powerful program from the ACC. They are a perennial NCAA tournament team and consistently reside in the top 20 in the nation. The Demon Deacons had another terrific year in 2007, advancing to the 2nd round of the NCAA’s and finishing with a 13-6-3 record. The also play in a fantastic setting at W. Dennie Spry Stadium. You can find out more about the Demon Deacons on their web site.lg-soccer 2008 Preview: Challenging Opening Weekend

The Spartans from UNC Greensboro are the power of the Southern Conference. They had a fantastic 2007 season, advancing to the 2nd round of the NCAA’s and finishing with a 16-5-1 record. They are coached by Eddie Radwanski, a former U.S. National team player. They play in the beautiful UNC G Soccer Stadium, which hosted the 1997 (won by North Carolina) and 1998 (won by Florida) NCAA College Cup Finals. Alumni Day Re-cap: Tracy takes the High Road

April 20th, 2008

Former all- Mountain West Conference midfielder, Tracy Stratton Garner, made her comeback on Saturday just a couple of months after giving birth to her second son. Here Tracy introduces us to her sons, Jaden, and Cale (the new one). She also takes the high road when asked to give some grief to former Utes Bobbie Benegas Hackenbruck and Maren Harper for not coming to the event.
